Thanks for posting Jeff! It is about time ABF finally is able to do RPM service from Vegas to So. Cal. Every other LTL carrier here was killing us in overnight freight to Cali. We can turn and burn within the legal hours allowed. I Know for a fact we lost accounts cause of our 2-5 day service to cali. Now our sales team can try to get those accounts back!

I like to know more about the Utility Employee (UE).UE is that a seperate board from the PUD board.If a road driver transfers to UE,does the company seniority hold to dovetail into the PUD board at next bid opportunity.Can a PUD employee bid to UE and then back to PUD at next bid. Thanks for any information.

The UE is taken from the city board and is just another start time bid that ABF has in the city .....In the east it is run Monday through Thursday and is a 10 hr bid and I would assume it will be the same in the west ....The UE runs from his home terminal to a hvxp where other terminals come to and they transfer their shipments to each other and make outbound loads at the hvxp and linehaul drivers pick up the outbound loads made at the hvxp and take them to a relay point or to their destination ...when the UE is finished at the hvxp he goes back to his home terminal hopefully by 0700 and they break and deliver the freight he brings back ....Some employees enjoy the variety of running the road and a couple hrs of dock work plus the 4 day work week ....
