    what a joke.
    which will increase freight handling capacity by nearly 700,000 pounds of freight daily
    so is this why there are pulling freight out of XCW starting monday.

    i ran with a guy i worked with at con-way the other night, and he said they are doing this because the chicagoland drivers cant get to xcw or xat on time. not blaming the drivers, chicago just sux to drive thru. nature of the beast i guess?

    It's a big big picture fellas...
    it's all about the circle of life... timing

    1) line-haul computer program that takes about 7 minutes to figure out what use to take 10 guys 3.5 hours (35 hours combined thinking)
    2) newly expanded mega-F.A.C.'s up and down and across the interstate system of the Midwest
    3) a target close time for reship of 3:30am
    4) one hostler per sector for reship
    5) hire part-time dock workers to offset the manpower lost to triples arriving
    6) improve what you can improve and those things you can't (traffic and weather) adjust so they have minimum impact on your transit times

    end result? tighter control on arrivals at reship and quicker departures getting the freight home and on the street quicker

    We our one of the problems and so is XSN,XAY and a few others. For us it is we move a lot of freight and at times it is pretty crazy. while a large part of the company was getting ride of driver we were still hiring, Unsuccessfully I may add. That for another thread. It also doesn't help when your supervisor main experience is being a driver for a month or a greeter. For all you fine driver's that do run F.A.C's that chicagoland runs into, It's not going to be a good year for run times. I-94 threw the city is going to be trashed,Half of 294 is being redone, 80-94 at the state line is still under construction and the skyway. These are all the major routs in and out of the chicagoland area. So don't be mad when we show up 2 hours late, just give us a hug and tell us it will be alright.

    seen it before on the east coast, mid atlantic, and metro region, add doors or build a new service center and reroute enough freight to blow the doors of the sucker! Then rethink the situation and ease the freight flow into that center.Press on
