Out West we have been on the 70 hour rule since I started over 6 years ago and all it meant for me was more money in my pocket. I used to love my
job all the time when I was new. Now sometimes I love it and sometimes I don't. When I get a big fat paycheck I love it for sure. When I struggle to get some OT and people don't let me I don't love it. When I want to go home early and I can't I hate it. I know lots of people have been around longer than I have and have seen changes that I have not. I knew a driver who was one of the first to be hired when CWX started. He was #1, first pick at everything, tons of vacation so you would think he would be happy but he wasn't.All he did was complain about how much things had changed. Some people have a hard time with change, myself included, but what are you going to do??? I am not going to quit, hopefully I don't get fired, hopefully I can sqeeze 30 more years out of this lemon and retire. It is what it is and you and I can't do anything about it accept try and have a positive attitude, try and do as good a
job as we can. That is it, end of story, game over. If things don't work out the way I hope I can only blame myself for sticking around and not going over to Fed-Ex when I had the chance. WTF!!! I like my chances here, I like my route, I like my tractor, I like almost everyone I work with, I like my TM and most of the supervisors, I like my start time, and I like most of my paychecks.I think that I have a pretty good deal compared to alot of folks I know.
