Are there any drivers for this company who like thier job? Got to be some of us left

Out West we have been on the 70 hour rule since I started over 6 years ago and all it meant for me was more money in my pocket. I used to love my job all the time when I was new. Now sometimes I love it and sometimes I don't. When I get a big fat paycheck I love it for sure. When I struggle to get some OT and people don't let me I don't love it. When I want to go home early and I can't I hate it. I know lots of people have been around longer than I have and have seen changes that I have not. I knew a driver who was one of the first to be hired when CWX started. He was #1, first pick at everything, tons of vacation so you would think he would be happy but he wasn't.All he did was complain about how much things had changed. Some people have a hard time with change, myself included, but what are you going to do??? I am not going to quit, hopefully I don't get fired, hopefully I can sqeeze 30 more years out of this lemon and retire. It is what it is and you and I can't do anything about it accept try and have a positive attitude, try and do as good a job as we can. That is it, end of story, game over. If things don't work out the way I hope I can only blame myself for sticking around and not going over to Fed-Ex when I had the chance. WTF!!! I like my chances here, I like my route, I like my tractor, I like almost everyone I work with, I like my TM and most of the supervisors, I like my start time, and I like most of my paychecks.I think that I have a pretty good deal compared to alot of folks I know.

Must be one of those unique and unexplainable phenomena. Am sure what is posted here is not representative of prevalent attitudes in the Conway general population. - I know this because a high level manager told me so and they do not lie.

LawOfOne once started a thread that was titled http://www.truckingboards.com/trucki...-has-lost.html that developed as one might expect. In response and with some objectivity I started a counter-thread http://www.truckingboards.com/trucki...as-gained.html and it went, well...as expected.

Edit: Much can now be added to the latter thread.

We have our fare share of disgruntled drivers. I even know a daytime linehaul driver who has 15 years in the company, makes 100k a year and talks about the good old days of american freightways. No company is perfect, especially one that reports to share holders. I came so close to working for conway, just before the interview I ran into a conway driver in detroit that convinced me not to go on the interview, luckily I got the job here. You guys still get paid better, and have better benefits than us. What I'm trying to get at is that in LTL these days, you don't get something for nothing. Pay, benefits, management, work environment, and others are a give an take. Conway isn't perfect, neither is fedx freight, but if I lost my job, I would be applying at conway the next day.

It seems to be a terminal decision. Some area SCs are on a 70 hr and we are still at 60. Hasn't been mandated company wide yet.
