I DO NOT see the paperwork on a daily basis.
The couple times I have it has changed or the policies and procedures have.

One more reason to be educated on what to look for when you do happen to see one..

We're truckdrivers. Not clerks.

You are the driving force of this industry.. without you, everyone else would not have a job either...

The cab of my truck looks like an office with all the paperwork, forms and sales brochures.

If you want me to drive safely, handle freight for the customer, sell our services plus do the paperwork for the office people.....you need to come up with more pay.

I want more pay too... but isn't everything you just listed part of the job you applied for? We all are part of this .. TOGETHER.. and the only way we are gonna get more pay, is if we get more freight on our trailers.. I am not in a Charlotte or Atlanta.. our O/B only picks up 200 bills a day..

Until then I'll drive and handle freight.......

I am just a guy, all I want is a secure stable job that provides for my family and that I know that I have the chance of retiring at.. For those of you that see all Red Shirts as losers and the Enemy.. we're not all that way.. I am just trying to get FedEx Employees to get on the same page before we end up like one of the others... I will not work un-happy.. if it gets to that point, I will find happiness for myself... But, if a company is actually making an effort to further educate their employees on ways to better do their jobds.. its not a bad thing.. We are here for one thing (whether you see it this way or not) and that is to provide a service to the customers that pay us.. and if their service happens to be a shipment that goes to Canada... well then we all need to be prepared and educated on how to help the customer have the proper paperwork in order.. Don't see why it is such a sour issue..

I sit here at my desktop at home each morning, drinking my beer, wondering how much longer its gonna be before we become one of "Them"... I wonder why I still care as much as I do.. It has nothing to do with what postition we are in.. It has everything to do with the pride level that we are at..

I have not lost mine yet.. although I feel I am fighting a losing battle...

Just "Drive and handle the freight", and I'll just hang some seals, and the clerks can just type some stuff on the computer, sales just ride around, SCM's just talk on the phone.... and I will continue to come home to my desktop, and watch what I thought was a promising career.. that will lead to a good retirement.. and pay for my daughters college.. turn into something that I hate to do on a daily basis.. so I can find myself starting over somewhere else.. being un-happy again!

And yes, I drank too much beer this morning!

Fishing.. now thats what I should be doing.. any suggestions on winning lottery numbers can be Pm'd to me before 2200 hours tonight.. if your numbers win.. I will buy you a boat, and you can join me.. (second place numbers will recieve the name of their choice on the boat!)
