Welll, if you have asthma/allergies as I do, any kind of dust/secondhand smoke etc. causes irritation of the sinuses/lungs/eyes. The dust on the dock is a non preventable evil. Wear a mask as so many others do,or invent a dust free forklift tire. The smoke in the cab of my or any truck is totally preventable and again if some drivers can smoke and the effects be minimal to unnoticable in the truck I have no problem with it while others seem to leave a trail of ashes and odor behind them with total disreguard for the other driver. Signed sniveling whining blue collar freight pullin' truck driver.........
what does this mean? Now you are all over him because he doesnt work the dock,Jumpin jesus man he has put his time in here for crying out loud man I think he runs a meet and turn so there is no dock on a meet ussually im sure he has had plenty of time on the patio when he first started good god
train...you said you were a chain smoker .... and it sounds like you did not serve in the military so i'll try to explain what I was getting at .... smokers in our boot camp were only allowed 2 or 3 cigs a day ...smokers draw 1 smoke ... and like I said smokers draw 1 pack that day ... so they went outside and chain smoked for 30 min after not getting but 2 or 3 a day for better than 2 months .....boy did the look green after puffing as many as they could when they came back in ....I just was wondering if you got like that ..chain smokin ...sorry you could not enjoy the humor with me ..as you were not there...:smilie_132:...it still brings a smile to me even though it was 34 years ago ...
slackdragon i feel and remember the pain of boot camp but it was only 33 years ago it is still fresh in my mindsome just got their undies on too tight

In OHIO this problem has been solved.
You are basically not allowed to smoke in any public building. Restaurants, bowling alley's, even bars and clubs! You cannot smoke within 20 feet of a door or window if you smoke outside as well.
You are alos not allowed to smoke in any company vehicle, unless you own the vehicle yourself. In order to comply with the law, Fedex Freight has removed all cigarette lighters and ashtrays from the equipment, as well as installed no smoking signs inside the tractors with a toll free number printed on it to report violations to the health department. Yes, people has used the number, and the health department has visisted us to check our compliance as a result. Any truck domiciled in Ohio, has to meet theses regulations. This law also includes company cars and pickup trucks.
You say this sounds like socialism? This law was passed by popular vote, with vast majority of Ohioans voting yes!
