I was being nosey jumping on other companies forums. All of you drivers sound really pissed off. Is life that bad at FedEx National? I would have never guessed this. What seems to be the problem?

No it's not that bad here, the problem is 2 fold......For most people (myself included) the hardess thing in life to accept is CHANGE, whether it be your Job, or change in ownership as is the case here, or things as simple as having to change from your favorite parking spot, to someone taking your almost assigned seat on row 3 at church. We get use to the way things are, an we develop a comfort zone with that and when something happens to upset our daily routine we become uncomfortable with that cituation.
The change here has mostly been in stages and each time they implement another change we become uneasy, thus we voice our concerns/ complaints even though we can see that most, not all , the changes seem to be for the better in the long run.

Bottom line is CHANGE takes time, but in the end we should all benefit from it.

The second fold to all this is simple and it goes back to an old Chinse Provberb: The only difference between a puppy and a truck driver is a puppy quits whinning after 6 weeks.

Its not all job changes, many of us had complete LIFESTYLE changes. Many of the line haul breaks with a lot of us senior drivers had day shift runs, FedEx puts 95% of us on night runs leaving from 2100 till 200 am. Quess what who is your wife and kids.Don't know anymore because your now sleeping all the time. I"m running they same run that I ran when it was Watkins, took 9 hrs and at the house. Now it takes 12 to 13 hrs because you have to show up early and guess what no dollies. Some times a 2 to 3 hour wait for a Dollie, but they only pay you from your start time not the mandatory show up time. Now you forced to take 1/2 lunch between 5th and 6th hour and then you return back to the barn to sit in a fuel line for a hour because they send us all out the same and we return back the same time. Again you sit with no pay. So they add basically 2 to 3 hours on the line drivers per day and say Ole well. But theres the door if you don't like it. Its just hard to swallow when you ask for answers nobody seems to care. I don't blame FEDEX for all of this alot falls on individual terminals but FEDEX hasn't bought one dollie for us and we are trying to do the same runs plus some increased runs with the same equipment they was on a rotating basis with 75% day runs the 25% night runs. Never a shortage of dollies.

Come over to conway...we value our drivers...we have plenty of extra dollies from all the terminals we closed...you never have to wait for that...and you get to drive state of the art, known for quality sterling tractors...i learned that today when i read our corporate site...

most of the problem here is that we have a lot of spoiled people who are used to getting things there way and now it's not that way .... most of the problems start with fellow workers and not management ... not that there are not problems there to but that tends to be old Watkins people thinking they can do things the way they want now that we are no longer a "family" owned company :smilie_132:
