    Wifi on the road?

I've been driving, basically, local for a few months. I go for orientation next week, then on the road soon after. I guess I'll pack clean clothes, towels, laundry bag, shaving kit, toiletries, flip flops, some food, drinks and a light weight sleeping bag. I will also take my laptop. I can configure my cell as a wifi hot spot, but is wifi available at truck stops? Hope so!

Yes, but it's not free. We have a 4G Mifi air card we use on the road and at home.

Most McDonalds will have free wifi, along with a lot of hotels. Park close enough and you can piggy back.

Thanks, it's no sweat. I have unlimited on my phone and already have it configured, so as to use a BT connection with my laptop. I would much rather use a free wifi because it’s faster and free.

GT I bet you still have a flip phone like me!

I'm not up on technology at all. My laptop is a $300 piece of crap and I have an old school flip phone, and I like it that way.

Actually, I had a Motorola Razor (one of the first) in 2000 and something. I wasn't supposed to be able to, but I did the same thing and used it as a modem. I have to admit, I have quite the ecliptic background. I've worked as an electronics tech on the Tonopah test range, drove truck, turned a wrench, and contracted for 12 years on Hotel Video on demand systems. Hell I'm even a certified home inspector and a licensed Real Estate agent. I moved to VA from FL and I found there are only two solid industries in which to make a living, in this area anyway. I didn't want to go back to school to work in the medical industry so............ I hope I’m not shooting myself in the foot.
