it is bitter sweet. we needed such a weapon back then, or so they thought.
now that nearly every country or third world tyrant can have one, we fear the inevitable.
In the first half of 1955, the United States performed more than a dozen tests of atomic weapons in Nevada, studying the destructive power of the country's most powerful weapons. These photos, from the 44th nuclear test explosion ever performed on US soil, capture the varied effects.
Rare and eerie photos from an early atomic bomb test

Those pictures remind me of Detroit!
I often wonder with the bomb tests done by the U.S.,as well as other countries.
Think all of that blowing up the earth, could effect the earth plates,to cause them to shift?
Maybe the reason for so many large earth quakes in the last few years on our planet.
I don't no any science to back up this theory, just thinking.
Are really having a surge of earthquakes? Remember we only have just over 100 years of recordable weather history. As population grows and expands, we're hearing more and more only because the human race is being affected. And we have better technology tracing these earthquakes.
well you know, it may have taken several years but it could be a possibility for sure. the vibrations could have been felt as far away as CA, maybe not on the surface, but certainly underground. then there is/was the fallout of the particles that over time, could have circled the earth.
as the population grew, so did chemical plants, refineries, and other such "industrial" pollution, which affected us as well. hell, even active volcano's affected the world over time.
i think (in some way) we are having MORE (or a surge) of earthquakes than ever before. for instance, i never heard of the island of Haiti having any, nor New Zealand, where our buddy kiwi ray is from. and there are other countries that are having them as well, like recently Italy.
maybe, just maybe, the plates were "forced" into shifting.???
Those pics are crazy.
