A study of the belief in Hell shows crime is lower than a belief in Heaven

Interesting that folks who fear Hell in the after life are not likely to commit violent crimes.
However a belief in Heaven does not deter crime as much.

    Thumbs up

While the researchers found stronger belief in hell was linked to less crime, the opposite turned out to be true for a belief in heaven. This suggests countries where citizens put more stock in heaven than in hell suffer from higher
    crime rates
, and the bigger the gap, the worse the crime, the analysis revealed.

It probably has a lot to do with believers knowing we have a forgiving father. I try to ask for forgiveness everyday

I myself wake up and thank God for granting me another day and help me to do my best with it.
Then come to my computer and read the verse of the day on BibleGateway.com.
I figure if I stay in touch with God he does not have to get my attention, which is not likely to be a good thing.

"Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:...."

Matthew 25 vs 41 Pretty well establishes that Hell was prepared for the Devil and his Angels. Seems pretty evident to me that humans were never intended for Hell in the first place. Facing eternal life in torment with those who have condemned humanity should be enough to discourage any human. Imagine being free from the constraints of time or human weakness of hunger and thirst only to find that once free from this mortal existence, you find yourself eternally in a place of torment?

But, many humans are of the opinion that we are the highest form of intelligence and we have all the answers. How are we doing? Are we still sacrificing our children to the gods like the Myans did?

Ask a crippled Vietnam Vet if you have the guts to do it.
