    Starbucks inside Upstate funeral home

Robinson Funeral Home in Easley is in the process of building a coffee shop to be attached to the funeral home at 104 South 1st St.
When it's finished, the Coffee Corner will be available for friends and family members who have lost a loved one. The funeral owner says the shop will serve Starbucks coffee and food items.

when i first saw your thread title, i thought, "oh god"..

but given that many families invite people over to the house (for coffee/etc) after a funeral, this may not be such a bad idea after all. as long as it is a private affair and no other customers are allowed, on that particular day.

Starbucks is getting too ballsy. It will be open to the general public....Plus who the heck want's to drive to a funeral home?
What if the funeral home closes? Ah I get it...they will have to sever their ties from this earthly world and move on.

...It's a bold move for Starbucks. Somewhere in my area they are attempting to serve Alcohol so this is all starting to make sense.

The funeral home needs to open a Taro Card reading shop on the other side so Family members can communicate with their passed loved ones.
...maybe a carnival across the street.

That's tacky. Imagine you are over attending the funeral of a loved one and there are people of no relation laughing it up in the coffee shop. It's just not right to have them attached. Maybe on the same property but not in the same building. Plus, the whole funeral home will them smell like coffee and anytime you catch a whiff it will take you back to the memory of the funeral. I don't know. I don't think I like the idea too much, but then again, anything to do with funeral homes bugs me. I realize everyone dies, but I don't think people should profit from it. Just as I don't think people should profit from a lot of other natural occurrences, but hey, it's easy money. Back to the topic at hand...Are the people attending the funeral going to have to pay for their own Starbucks or will it be provided as part of the funeral. That's gonna really rack up the bill if so. They cost enough for the bare minimum as is.
