I was local out of J1, but do not live in NJ. My state says that I need to apply in NJ but every time I enter my zip code in the NJ automated attendant, it hangs up on me. Anyone got any suggestions?

Usually when applying out of state, you need to call the employment office of the state you are applying to. They will manually set your claim up over the phone, or send you the paperwork to do yourself.

call 1 888 795 6672 and speak to a representative....its about a half hour wait to talk to somebody.

doormatt u need to call nj 888-795-6672 unemployment. i'm out of j8, had to do the same thing.

Thanks. That number's listed as for PA residents. It doesn't matter that I'm not a PA resident?
