I applied last week....I have a couple of questions

I applied for Alexandria, In terminal. Looks like their hiring both city and linehaul. I didn't have an option when I did the online app but I prefer linehaul.

My questions are this...How long does it usually take R&L HR to contact potential new-hires? And at what rate does the linehaul side pay new drivers?

I've been driving professionally now for 17 years,10 of those years LTL/Road for Fedex Freight. I left there over a year ago to operate my own business and just recently sold it. So I'm looking to get back to truckin' Whooo Hoooo

    Thanks......Outsider

If they are hiring you as a combo driver run and dont look back. They are screwing these combo driver. This combo driver is so wrong. To under pay someone while others do the same work for more. I once spoke proud of R+L not any longer.

I agree with skeet..Sorry to say it, but this company is on the decline, the people they have hired to run it are YRC rejects.

I would not reccomend anyone who is serious about a trucking career working for this micky mouse outfit. You will be sorry if you come here.

Linehauls are paid by the run. If you hire as a combo you'll likely only get paid 85% of the runs pay. If you hire as a full time driver you'll be better off.

All new drivers are combo drivers a lot like Con-Way. You will be expected to work the dock, then drive to break terminal then work the dock, then drive to home terminal. None of the Combo Drivers are happy with the situation but times are tough and they are happy to have a job that they can be home every day. This is the world we live in today. I am thankful that I am not out ther looking!!!
