YRC Worldwide Inc. (NasdaqGS: YRCW - News) today reported its second quarter 2010 financial results. Quarterly net loss was $9.5 million or a loss of 1 cent per share compared to a huge loss of $309 million or a loss of $5.20 per share in the year-ago quarter. YRC National Transportation

Quarterly operating revenue was $741.6 million, down 15.1% year-over-year. Operating income was $33.1 million compared to an operating loss of $239.5 million in the prior-year quarter. Second Quarter 2010 operating ratio was 95.5% compared to 127.4% in the year-ago quarter.

YRC Regional Transportation

Quarterly operating revenue was $351.5 million, up 4% year-over-year. Operating income was $22.4 million compared to an operating loss of $48.3 million in the prior-year quarter. Second Quarter 2010 operating ratio was 93.6% compared to 114.3% in the year-ago quarter.

YRC Truckload

Quarterly operating revenue was $28.2 million, up 2.4% year-over-year. Operating loss was nearly $2 million compared to an operating loss of $2.4 million in the prior-year quarter. Second Quarter 2010 operating ratio was 107% compared to 108.6% in the year-ago quarter.
