    City Hours

How has the hours in the city been doing around the country lately? last week i clocked just over 30 hours, due to being on call for 2 out of 5 work days. The driver with the most hours last week clocked 41.

I'd say the average in GVL is 40-45. It's higher or lower depending on what area you run and whether or not you work the dock before.

I am in TOL, by the way. Still not getting any good hours. This week one city guy working in SID, one city guy doing linehaul at night to cover for a driver in the hospital, and still drivers are on call every day. TOL has 12 guys on the city board, 4 on linehaul, and plenty of dock help, so we can't even do that...

I don't know why they offer OT if they are going to keep the terminals over staffed to keep drivers from getting it. Would you rather get 35-40 hours a be paid Ot for over 45, or work 50 hours with no OT. It would seem the cost of insurance on each employee would overshadow keeping just a couple extra and some going over 45.

all i know is that stupid vnomics crap cost me 14 miles and 10 min less on my run time it got slashed yesterday i guess they gotta get back their raise money somehow . this is the only company i ever worked for that punishes you for doing a better job. i mean my tm said something because i was 10-15 min late a day or two so i picked up the pace and was on time every day sometimes 5 to 10 min early just for good measure . i guess i see why the trucks dont say WE CARE WE SHARE on them any more things were a lot better when the saia family still owned this outfit !!!!!!!!

I don't worry about the run times. I usually beat the time by atleast 15 min. both ways on my run. That being said, if one morning I actually decided to stop and take a break I would. I work 12-14 hours every night without a break unless you count the time I might be waiting on my load to close.
