Another employee friendly manager bites the dust, huh? I wonder if one day Daddy Rick and some of his cohort will be able to experience the very same thrill.

I cannot speak for the man, but atleast my wife could have fixed his hair!![]()
If he was as you say Scout, it doesn't surprise me. Those who look out for us are few and far between and put targets on their backs.
you must be one of the dispatchers wieners, poor me i always get the ****,

you're right scout. john is a good man and was a great boss and co-worker. was proud to work with him and would stand up beside him today or any day. does'nt say much for upper mgmt. when your getting rid of all your guys that have been here many years..(john 14)...and many more with 10 and up. we all have a target on our foreheads, you're just a number. if you think you're special, or they care at all about you, it's going to be a rude awakening...so bite down hard on the stick and bend over hero.
This is a tough subject. A good man who is in mgmt is still a hypocrite.
I knew John well, a smart, talented, too well-liked by his people, funny, Godfearing man that fired people for making mistakes that were less dangerous than his own mistake. Anyone around long enough to remember the old FON terminal knows what I am talking about.
It bugs me that mgmt can make deadly mistakes like that and he doesn't even get a drug test or a reprimand. People in charge of our safety should be held to an even higher standard than us, the workers. Shameful that he got a promotion instead of a pink slip.
But he was a really good guy.
I'll say it again... John W. was (and still is) a punk.
