Southeastern Freight to Deploy Electronic Driver Logs
Lexington, S.C.-based Southeastern Freight Lines plans to deploy electronic driver logs as a way of automating Department of Transportation Hours of Service record keeping and improve efficiency in its operations.
The regional less-than-truckload carrier will use electronic logs from Innovative Software Engineering, which provides a mobile driver interface, a web interface and an adaptable communications channel. The mobile interface automatically records driving status, calculates available driving time and notifies the driver of his compliance status. The mobile touch-screen display stores the data for up to eight days for roadside inspection and team drivers are fully supported.

... the option has been in the CDU for several weeks now. I'm curious to see how it differenciates between ...driving multiple trucks during the week.... working city P&D part of the week and line haul the rest....etc etc. I'm thinking the old paper log will not go away that easy.
I cant wait,no more paper logs!!!whewhew!!
Up here in the N.E., there is talk that Duie will go to them also. They say mulitiple trucks will not matter, all drivers are manifested in the morning so the computer knows which truck you are driving. Since it is a web based system, it should have know problem.:bananalama:
