New hires will drive but they will also work the dock and whatever else the supervisors can think of.

i've been there for almost 4 years now, and I seen maybe 5 city drivers turnover out of 115. I think its a great company to work for. The dock isn't that bad.

How long new new hires have to work the dock? I thinking of putting in an app.at the greensboro terminal as a line haul driver. I'm with another ltl company right now,but they took me(and several others) off line haul. Want to get with good co. Where i can get back into line haul.

Starting pay will be at least $17.35 an hour and 2 years to top pay. You get a 50 cent raise every 90 days until you top out $21.35 at my barn. It may be higher in other places like Atlanta, Charlotte and other bigger cities or where cost of living is higher. Linehaul will usually startoff running the system being gone all week but I have heard of guys getting home every other day when they first get hired. Top out for linehaul is .52 mile.

I might add that even if you run the system, they generally get you home during the week once. Doesn't happen every week though. Also a terminal as big as GBO generally has city drivers wanting to go to linehaul. They get first choice over a new hire. Good Luck.
