Well…I simply can’t resist adding my two cents worth on this subject. This is my first post since my 7 day ban from this site. Due to my stubbornness and being hardheaded as some of you know on this site, I figured I would make my 7 day ban a permanent one…knowing darn well it was my own actions that earned me that 7 day vacation. I will always admit that I’m far from perfect but I will always accept the responsibilities and the repercussions of my actions.

Although, I’m not going to go into the personal aspects of what happened on Jimmy’s site because he isn’t here to represent himself… I feel that I must warn the members there to be very careful. I had always heard that Jeff was the snake in the grass but to me personally, he was quite the opposite. Now on the other end of the spectrum…I’ve learned that lesson once again that someone that you considered a friend isn’t really a friend after all.

The actions of one that tried to sabotage a project and the actions of another that went above and beyond to help to get things back on track. I can say that beyond a doubt that Jeff was the one that was there to help to get things back on track and I want that to be very well known. To me…for someone to go out of their way to help when it would benefit them more just to sit back and do nothing, says it all about a man’s character.

We should never be out of arguments because we are standing for the workers. We are working to protect the ability of a man to give an honest days work for good pay. We fight to protect his right to seniority, benefits and a respectable retirement. But no one can be forced into a Union with threats and intimidation. The Union is useless if its members are not willing to stand up proudly for what they believe in. The Union is weakened when we openly threaten and and criticize each other. We have to respect the opinion of those who disagree with being Union. We don't have to agree, we can try to convince them why we are right, but their opinion is their opinion, it deserves respect.

I am not going to stand here and criticize brothers on another board. I pulled out and moved on, but I have had many good debates over there and there are many fine people on other sites. They are free to go what ever direction they wish, and so am I.

Let's stand proud, and tell the benefits of belonging to the Teamsters so more join us and we grow stronger.
I agree with you on your comments .I try and share my past experience as a Teamster with those that are not . I had 44 years in the union and most of that was at Yellow Freight .{ I retired b/4 the **** hit the fan with Roadway }. I had a good living being a teamster. One of the biggest complaints with the non's is paying dues . One of the best investments for me and my fellow drivers were those dues . Where are you going to get great health care coverage a Cadillac health plan. a good and better than average pension ,vacation , seniority rights paid holidays, time and a half for o/t and able to keep some bully intimidating boss off your ass or being fire for non just cause aka employee at will all that for 2.5 hrs. per month? I would talk to the nons at stops and compare our benefits and they would say that it cost them not all but the ones with families that health insurance for the family plan cost them like 125. per week or 500. per month verses our I think at that time 60. a month. Lets say your not happy with your b/a or anyone else in the union its still worth being union if for nothing else the benefits . Once a month us guys get together for breakfast and we have a couple of guys that weren't union and they do admit that had they had to do over they would have joined the union because of the pensions and medical that they no longer have . And still there are some that post here that still hate the unions like there is something wrong with having a good job in trucking . The way I see it the only ones that benefits from not being union is the company not the employees . I guess there are those that find sport in the art of disagreeing .
