The only reason Fred got into the race (undoubtedly with Hoffa's approval) was to split the vote (strip votes from Pope). Hoffa was scared Pope may beat him otherwise. If Hoffa is back in, the Teamsters are done as far as the freight industry members are concerned. Hoffa has turned his back on them a long time ago anyhow.
