Can you speak english ?

This question is being ask more and more. Is it just me or is the AMERICAN TRUCK DRIVER DISAPPEARING?
Are we becoming a dying breed. Are we to just disappear? They speak of Homeland Security but yet people from many of the very countries that wish us gone now drive trucks all across our country. I pay $150.00 for my drivers license but I will not learn to speak several different languages just to be able to drive a truck. We go back and forth over union and non union issues and all the while another foreigner has taken another truck drivers job. Now this is not to say we should close our country off for those that search for the GREAT AMERICAN DREAM! But we as drivers are losing thousands of truck driving jobs yearly. How many of you all have been at stops and were the only driver in the room that spoke English? No it is not just a union non union thing anymore. WE AMERICAN TRUCK DRIVERS HAVE GONE GLOBAL! And I for one am not happy about it. We American truck driver are losing jobs because these foreign drivers for the most part work for poverty wages and as we all know corporate greed will lean in their direction for the greater profits. WAKE UP AMERICA! YOUR BROTHER ALWAYS

Muler,I write at a letter to my Reps at least once a week about this problem...They are saying they are trying to introduce new bills in Congress,but for some "Ungodly reason"(as they said) it's getting nowhere..Blockages and excuses are killing the process...I'm not giving up,but I think it's becoming SOP with DC,as to allow them to continue to cross over...Push it hard on your side,and I'll do what I can..It's getting worse,as we speak...

But if the States get tough on illegals the President and Federal Gov.will sue and the all American Judges will put a hold on States to prevent the State law.

I am tired of being told what to think. I am an AMERICAN I also have rights. And being able to support my family is a right that we should all concern ourselves with. When I see once proud truck drivers standing in line for a food giveaway and then I go to a customer and I am the only one speaking ENGLISH I could care less if my state gets their funds cut. Because today it is someone else tomorrow it will surely be us. WAKE UP AMERICA! YOUR BROTHER ALWAYS!

Muler the only reason for inclusion of foreigners as truck drivers is that they work in low wages also. And they are ready to bear all the pain as they stive for money and the great american dream which you have mentioned. You must be young but ageing is also important factor which is allowing such persons to be american truckies. Don't you think so.
