There is a lot to be said for the union saving YRC . The teamsters went to the lenders when Zollars and the boys couldn't swig a deal but the teamsters did . If not for the teamsters YRC would be gone for two years now . For everyone that thinks its bad now at YRC don't know how bad it would have been with out the intervention of the union . The union gave the employees a voice in their future even granted it ain't good but it's a hell of a lot better than letting management run wild .

I tend to agree woodennickel, but start with these board of directors and stockholders first...They are the ones that demand those CEO's reach, some would say, unreachable goals..For that, and their performance, they give big salaries and bonuses...I say, if they do the job..If they take care of their employees properly,I have nothing against them getting their part..But it's those who run roughshod over the employees, are those I have a problem with..But this is my opinion and mine lone..

I didnt know that a union was to blame because the board members made such terrible business mistakes. You did not work there so you do not know the story at all. Just what you want to believe. go pound it scabby

I will call it insider trading to begin with, when Roadway was stolen and the employee's of Yellow were screwed because of the big money that the board members made when this first took place. Just my opinion.

The outcome would have been the same,as it turns out.I also recall alot of Teamsters posting, the outcome was determined before they voted.
Too poor to be Republican, too rich to be Democrat.

Ya I know. In some peoples minds it's always fixed. Why even bother having a union? They're all crooked and only there for the dues. The workers shouldn't have a vote. They can always go to the boss and work things out because they are treated like family.

Go ahead and ask the ABF Teamsters. I also recall some of them saying the same thing about the vote on the ABF givebacks. If you'll remember the majority of ABF Teamsters chose not to follow their union's advice and they voted no to the givebacks.

Time will tell but so far it looks as if in both cases the union workers voted right. I can go to just about any nonunion company site on here and find posts from unhappy workers who have taken cuts in wages vacation time and benefits without having any say at all in it......... I guess thats how companies treat family
