Please keep this in mind at all times and abide by it. We have reminded people of this quite a bit over the years so if it continues, I'll have to recommend suspensions. It's not fair to content providers if these rules aren't followed. And it is also illegal.
1. All content quoted from other sources (anyone other than yourself) must be accompanied by credit to the source and a link to that content. Even paraphrases (relaying the information in your own words) must be accompanied by a credit to the source.
2. Never post an entire article or story. Never post more than couple of paragraphs maximum of the piece, and less is better. A key excerpt is fine, but the full article should be read on the site from which the piece originates.
3. Always provide the link. If it's a newspaper or magazine article that wasn't offered online, please don't type it up. We appreciate the effort, but it's not fair to the newspaper/magazine. You can, however, paraphrase the information that you wished to share, the way you would if you were telling a friend about it later.
There's a ton of information available and it's great to have members share what they find. But let's be sure that we do it in a way that respects the work the authors put into it.
This is a serious matter on the internet, official press releases are fine to post in it's entirety but images and content is not, we will be cracking down hard on this so please comply with the rules. This includes everyone from me to the last person to join Truckingboards.
Remember, this includes images linked from other websites.
