Indiana State Police crack down on cigarette littering

    As Info:

Even though UPS Freight has a policy against smoking in the tractors, some still do.
If you happen to travel in the Indiana area and get caught flicking a cigarette butt out the window...10,000 dollars is the penalty you have to pay.

Indiana State Police are cracking down on people who do not properly dispose of their cigarettes or other lit tobacco products as part of an effort to prevent fires during the state’s drought.

We just had a sizable grass fire on the side of one of our expressways.
When some knuckle head flicked a cigarette butt out of the window igniting the dry grass.

that fire could have caused a crash or injury to the fire fighters.
So I say bring on the Hefty fines for those who smoke.
who don't have sense enough to dispose of their butts in a safe place.

Over the 4th of July holiday, they cancelled fireworks in my area due to the high heat and drought.
Obviously the neighborhood kids in my area don't care.
They shot off bottle rockets, roman candles etc. Some landed on my lawn and caused a 4 foot wide fire.

I was actually upset about it but...It's not like you can trace where it came from.
Had I known, I probably would have burned there hair off. (just kidding about that)

Every state and town should address this problem. Every morning I take a walk in my neighborhood and it is unbelievable the number of "butts" I see lying along the streets.
