We are having a reputation problem, there are places I used to go that I do not anymore. Was it over trailer condition, delivery times, damages? I dunno, but there have been a few places lately using Unishippers and 3pl that frown when i show up saying "we heard about you guys, to late now" One even got out a camera and took pics from each side and top to show DO NOT STACK signs, then a pic after it was in my trailer strapped to wall. A good name is hard to get, but a bad name comes fast and hard.

i just saw an ad in our local sunday paper for linehaul drivers and dock workers the pjax way hire more when your slow and drivers are getting hours cut and days off.

they usually do that because the drivers that start late hardly get any hrs and find other employment and they can cut a little o.t. while also have some1 in line in case of some1 quitting or getting fired. i'm waiting for a city/linehaul combo so u can't get o.t.

Be mad if you want to but that is how we worked at CF years ago.

That is how Yellow, Roadway, Holland work today. In fact if you are a 10% you don't have a start time and no regular days, you just get called ahead of casuals.

If you are Road Driver on the wheel board you have to be available 24/7 after your rest is up. At CF, when freight was slow, there were times when my rest was up and it was another day & a half before I got called to work. And you had to answer the phone and you had to go to work or you were subject to progressive discipline up to and including discharge.

Guys that had a problem with it quit. The way I see it, that is you only option now, find another job.

available 24/7...you must be crazy. People have a life outside of work. And whoever chooses to put their life on hold for a corp needs to get their head checked.
