Well, from what I heard about history before me, Managers were just puppets, they were not allowed to do more than go to the bathroom without running it up the ladder, sure there needs to be most things to follow, but there is difference between every terminal that need to be taken into account for each place. Maybe Des Moines has a few cash croppers who need time off in the fall for corn picking, or a Dallas driver needs to go see a Medical Specialist who is only in Ft Worth from OKC once a month, both are needed and will kill your day, but corporate might view these different, doctor they can say nothing about, but the cash cropper they can say he is running a business on the side and cannot sidestep his job here to do something with that job (even though that job is how he affords to work here) The worthless TM might be missing the days of being a puppet and does not know how to make decisions on his own
this is so true, I remember years ago we had a tm who called corporate to find out what to do when we short trucks in city, corporate actually had to tell him to put next driver to bed and use their truck, next driver just started in CLV and was told in TOL to go to bed, we needed your truck, luckly that puppet was only here about 6 months.
Sounds like a real winner (or is it wiener?)
Chris B was a joke to begin with. Worked about 5 hours a day, didn't want to hear anything the drivers had to say, and treated everyone like crap. He was too worried about how not to be there. There were a lot of people glad to see him go. Is the grass greener? I doubt it, but that's the Hartman way. You are great until I have no use for you and now you have to go. Put another schmuck in the chair and suck the soul from them. CK should start there to make changes. This level of management does nothing but pass the buck and cover their own ass. Eliminate the cronies and start fresh.
