I too look forward to being told why I am getting screwed without a reach around
so I see that we have "realalistic" team members here at vitran. I have been preaching that since june, that we will not be seeing any money, they may have a new pay scale in a ffect for the company as a whole, which I have no idea why they didnt have one on affect the 1st day pjax and vitran started holding hands, I too believe that we will hear the same old crap, the productivity is down, the numbers r in the right place, the accidents r through the roof, claims r at a all time high, we as a whole are not doing our job, frieght volume has slowed down. my outlook on why we will see no money, I can counter all the things I just mentioned,1 the numbers will never match, that is becuz we have people that are not quilified, becuz we r hiring alot of big dummies,we ran off all the employees that did do their jobs and so that we can get the "numbers" to where " they "want them to be. 2. the reason you are having so many accidents, is becuz the people driving the trucks, alot of them have little to 0 driving experience. 3. the frieght volume will never be what we used to have it at, the biggest reason y....... ITS BECUZ U CANT GET MORE THEN 6 BILLS ON A LINEHAUL TRAILER WHEN THE 4 BILLS ON IT ARE 10 SKIDS A PIECE! and I just aint talking the accounts like g.e. g.m. pro trans. walmart, or your other big time national accounts. there has not been one day in the past month that I have not picked up a order less then 8 skids, I call everytime to make sure that dispatch wants me to grab it, and he says" go ahead we need the revenue..... REALLY? IF YOU WANTED TO MAKE THE "REVENUE ON CRAP LIKE THAT. HIT THEM WITH A TRUCKLOAD CHARGE, HIT THEM WITH A LINEAR FEET CHARGE, HIT THEM WITH THE 1000LB PER FOOTAGE FEE.
Common sense people, but why am i even typing, you and i know this, if you want to pick all that 10-11-12-13- skid orders up then you need to hit them with all the charges u can, in reality they are affaid to, its becuz if they do the customer will just call the next carrier in his rolidex. I give up, y'all have a great wkend when you get to it and be safe out there on the big road........ And watch out for the 12skid orders lol

Obviously he did not understand the rate structure, and that 6 skids of foundry products pay better than 24 skids of toilet paper
this is due to staying the same as others out there, unlike what our Boss's think, we ARE NOT anything special in the industry. If they give the discount, we have to also if we want to haul it. The point that is being missed is not who we are hauling, it is what and where we are. Sadly, we have a couple losing routes out of our terminal too, but, because they are national accounts that the company makes money from as a whole, our terminal losses money on them due to 5 stops over 450 miles. What you need is sales to get off their duffs and get that truck PU coming home, even if it still is a loser, make it less of a loser.
