Union Business Agents Steal Romney Signs In Ohio

Perrysburg police today issued misdemeanor citations to four men for allegedly being in possession of stolen political signs.

Those charged with receiving stolen property included John Russell, 39, of Toledo, and Chris Monaghan 41, of Rossford, who are both listed on the Sheet Metal Workers Local 33 Web site as business agents for the union’s Toledo district.

The men were in a pickup truck registered to Local 33 in Parma, Ohio, police said.

Also cited were Corey J. Beaubien, 37, and Sean Bresler, 33, both of Toledo.

Trumka Promises More than 2,000 Union ‘Poll Monitors’ in Battleground States

Setting the scene for possible post-election legal challenges, AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka said his unions plan to deploy 2,000 “poll monitors” who will be linked with lawyers around the country as a way to prevent
"voter suppression" in states such as Ohio.

During a media conference call on Thursday, Trumka recalled being at an early voting site in Las Vegas where he saw “challengers inside.”

“We’re going to have over 2,000 people that are going to be available as poll monitors that’ll be connected to a number of lawyers around the country. So that if they [the opposition] attempt to deny them the right to vote, or hassle them we’ll be able to have a rapid response team that will respond immediately to that and protect them,” Trumka said.

SEIU, like other large entities that spend money on elections, doesn't have to disclose all of its expenditures to the Federal Election Commission. But according to disclosures it has made so far this year, the union has funded almost $70 million of campaign donations, television ads and get-out-the-vote efforts for Mr. Obama and other Democrats.

That's more than the nearly $54 million spent by Priorities USA, the main Democratic super PAC

We find it unfortunate that the Sheet Metal Union is involved in such low behavior and actively suppressing freedom of speech during such an important election. We hope the news media will investigate. Wide reports of Romney signs being stolen have been an issue for many weeks, but this is the first we’ve heard of anyone being caught.




Tom Zawistowski, President of the Ohio Liberty Coalition, added “This has been a serious issue all election season all over Ohio. What we have seen is not random theft of a few signs here and there, but instead a literal cleansing of entire areas of signs. That has to be planned and executed by someone who has no respect for the law or for free speech.” Zawistowski concluded by saying “In Portage County, we had gotten advance notice that lots of signs were going to be taken last night and sure enough entire streets of signs were missing this morning. Most of which were on private property and many that were not near the road. It will be interesting to learn from the investigation if those caught in Perrysburg were being paid by the Union while they were taking the signs. Our member groups will not hesitate to prosecute individuals who are caught taking signs and we encourage anyone that has a sign stolen to file a police report.”

SEIU Organizer Forgets Simple Chant While Protesting Paul Ryan

Wisconsin Jobs Now, a front group for the SEIU protested Paul Ryan’s campaign stop on Wednesday in Racine, WI. The protest of about 12 people was lead by SEIU organizer Todd Stoner.





Stoner, as usual, interrupted and disrupted interviews I was conducting with his faithful crew, in an attempt to hide their complete lack of knowledge as to why they are really there. He warned them I was Breitbart News and I was a “big conservative.” Still, some of the protesters were willing to talk but failed to give coherent answers.





Protesters chanted and repeated the same old talking point, “Romney only cares about the rich.” In an embarrassing moment, another protest organizer on a bull horn duty apparently had problem with the synapses in his brain firing fast enough to remember the words to the chant he was leading just minutes before:
