The longer version to this video was on the Today show however
I guess there maybe some reason they won't let it be posted on other sites.

Anyway that dog is 19,and suffering from joint pain so his owner takes him in the water every day.
And the dog falls asleep in his arms,he wants to keep him going as long as he can.

I can relate as I have had a few German Shepherds from puppies till I had to have them put down due to joint pain.

The German Shepherd I have now is 6 and I have had him just over 3 years.
I'd hate any thing bad happen to him,he has really become my good bud.

My 18 yr. old border collie mix had joint pain. She left naturally with me lying on the floor with her hugging and petting her and talking softly to her. That was 8 years ago, seeing this was emotional for me. This is a beautiful relationship of love and trust, you can see the trust in the dogs face, somehow you can sense that he realizes how fortunate he is that his wagon was hitched to a good man.

If was just saying that to my wife this morning. Our little guy seems to know he has it good. I have had several people comment to me while walking him bout the sparkle in his eyes and he looks to be smiling. Maybe so. I know we both love him and enjoy his antics.

Roadrunner, they have no idea how much joy they give us, and yes I do think they can smile.
