    layoff vs. active

Page 8 of Velocity Improvement COO says

"In Addition, we would further propose April 11, 2008 be utilized as a date to determine active status (layoff vs. active)"

So where do the losing numbers start layoff or active.

ACTIVE, don't be fool by anyone. Everyone will be able to phone bid so if your barn is losing 10 drivers and 10 laid off men leave. Guest what your still going to lose 10 active drivers. What happens here is you'll get scr*w*d. Last 4 changes I went through this is what happen, just speaking the TRUTH!

Does anyone know what constitutes active? Seems I seen something somewhere about so many days worked near the cut off.

    Does this help?

Roadway proposes a cutoff date for any new hire of April 11, 2008. Those attaining
seniority after this date shall not be eligible to participate in the bid. In addition, we
would further propose that April 11, 2008 be utilized as a date to determine active status
    (layoff vs. active).

So what happens if your losing 10 jobs in the change and theres 10 on layoff and those 10 laid off bid out does that mean the bottom 10 active will dodge the bullet?

Absolutely not, we know first hand in 120 whatever your losing is active employees. The company may say otherwise but if you 1 of the bottom 10 active you can be certain if you don't leave you'll be layed off. It happened every change at 120.

Looks like from companies point of view thats it. Thats just their proposal tho. Find it hard to believe a guy laid off a week before the cut off would have know recoarse. Just figured you guys that been through it would know.

    layoff vs. active

The way I understand it......if you were laid off before April 11th you are on the inactive list. If you get laid off after the 11th you can still be on the active list.

Also, if your terminal is loosing 10 jobs, only guys leaving from the active list keeps RDWY from laying off the bottom 10 men.

Employees on the inactive list will get a chance to bid out only after the whole master active list has had a chance.

There is more but I'll keep this post short. DS.
