Guess he took it to heart when his girlfriend told him "it's OK honey, size doesn't matter".
Things that make you go "hmmmmm", other than that I am lost for words. I'm sure NY's finest treated him with warmth and compassion throughout his dilemma.
I'd rather get a letter than pay for that ticket from NYPD. What barn was that city driver out of? Queens, NY or Elizabeth, NJ. From the looks of it the height restriction alarm didn't get triggered or doesn't work. Betcha he said he came into NYC from the Jersey side of the tunnel
Didn't Yellow have a small barn on the lower West Side of Manhattan or did they closed it down. I remembered working down there as a casual back in the days.
Yellow terminal in lower Manhattan closed years ago. 149 Leroy Street. Fed Ex is on the property now. The guy in the tunnel wasn't out of Queens or the Island. He was headed back and his story was that GPS gave him the directions
Just gotta love that GPS !!!!! Dispatcher handed me the phone the other day and asked me to give a guy directions to a customer location. The driver told me "Just give me the street address for my GPS". I gave phone back to dispatcher who gave him what he wanted. Hope his GPS told him the trailers are were not located at the customers uptown address but at a drop yard used by the city drivers 5 miles away!!
Hate to see this happen!! I hope it wasnt a 4-hour casual with a CDL making brownie points!
Driver was on layoff called back went to Maybrook, Left 132 (LGI) to Carlstadt N.J WHERE IS THE HUMOR? Man lost his JOB!!
