How about the 10% to the pension fund so some of these people on the bubble can get the hell out....
Here in a few years only the "Geezers" will have a CSA score that these company's will be paying a premium to hire them back

I will tell you that they have really lowered the hiring standards at Reddaway and they still can't get drivers. Pay could be better and could be union but I still enjoy the job. I work with some good people, very nice and very helpful. A driver will call in sick and they just laugh about it. Doesn't even bother them, I don't get it? They will see drivers doing things wrong, like not getting new tires put on their tractors when their bald or have a placard on when it shouldn't be there or log book stuff, etc. They just say be careful next time. I have to say it's pretty laid back here, not much stress. Kinda seems like they are kissing the drivers butt a little to much. On second thought, they can never kiss butt too much LOL.
If your gona dream, dream big....
Having a problem hiring? We still have 60 drivers on layoff. Now that I think about it, what is 85% of 85%?
Reddaway is having problems hiring and we only start out at 40 cpm and top out at 52 cpm. I heard YRC is making much more. I'm starting to think that out west, since only 3 Reddaway terminals are union that YRC is running the freight through us. That's why YRC is only hiring in the mid west and east coast, last time I checked anyway. That's just a hunch.
The union is using Article 5, sec 5 to transfer laid off drivers to hiring terminals, in addition to hiring off the street. Both of these actions will add to the pension funds bottom line. Until the debt is paid down, it is my opinion, we won't see any of the 15% back until after 2014-2015 as long as freight levels and the economy continue to improve. Even then it will be a fight........DS
They may get rid of the old geezers but just remember this younger generation will not do our job. What will the trucking industry do then. Juat saying! Future looks dim.
