What has the Union Done For Me, lets see, Sick days, Personal Days, Holidays Days, Vacation , FREE FAMILY INSURANCE!, Seniority, Paid Breakdown Pay, i'm shure there is more, OH! Pension $3,748.52 per Mo. CSPF, Contract! Contract! Concract! just a sample of what i rember.

Well at Reddaway we get all that minus the Pension. I have 25 years left till I hit 65 so I doubt the pension would be there if I was getting it.

I'm hoping that all the USF Reddaway yards will vote in the union someday. There are only 3 yards that I know of that are union. We have some kind of white paper contract in my yard. Have no clue what that is but I don't get a pension or pay union dues. Benefits are paid for though and that is good. I think if YRC is union then even us non union regional guys should be too. I want a pension! I don't believe I can count on a 401k and social security. By time I retire in 25 years they will probably be gone.

I started my first union job 35 years ago and back then everyone said there would be no pension or social security when we come of age and have the years in to collect pension and social security,but it`s still there today. The pension at YRC has encountered problems with only 25% being paid in right now,but if the economy does improve and it always does,at least so far it has,after every recession,that pension will be back on track and the people starting out today will have a pension and social security to look forward to. If this gov`t of ours would straighten out the financial mess it created,this economy would take off and we would all have job security. All this doubt and insecurity out there today has been created by the people in Washington and they need to make it right.

well, let's see..Started off casual w/Mason-Dixon in Chattanooga in 1979. Went to Carolina and was bumped waaay down with the merger (YRC employees know about this) and am still employed with ABF. Not sure why Mr. KK says I just don't understand because I am not a Teamster. Also, I know about the Averitt theft because a memo was posted on our bulletin board. So..there you have it..just working my way back up the board. Sorry I don't know how to cut and paste. BUT, I will leave you guys alone on the YRC board.
