Hey brother KK, thanks for the post and reminder! In my short career I have worked two union jobs and numerous non. I am very thankful of what I have (the union) and have studied history enough to know that it wasn't always this way. Last night I had a discussion with a supervisor and he made a comment that was interesting..........."I don't have the union there to protect my job". He is right, I do and the union has done just that..................DS.

I have had really bad luck with union jobs. I still wish I was in one though and I agree 100% if they weren't around we would make sweatshop wages.

What has a union done for me? Everything. Started in 1971 at Johnson Motor Lines and ended in 2010 at Roadway(YRC). In those 39 years a Teamster job bought me my home, numerous cars, vacations, children through college and many more benefits like paid for healthcare. And I forgot a pretty damn good pension which helps me and the mrs. enjoy life a little easier today. The best thing besides my family that ever happened to me was to work at Teamster jobs.
