Geezz here we go again, the man has a contract to advertize for the company, he voted no making the vote count on his contract 0-1 so he keeps it.

I know, you like working for less, while some middle of the pack golfer makes money off of the company you work for.. Maybe it would work if they put him in that neon orange shirt with YRC across the back,, just like the holding company made you guys wear..

Sorry to disappoint but at Big R we didn't have bowling shirts, a Hippie R maybe but no bright colored shirts....

It's advertising directed at middle management of the shippers, the ones who decide who gets the contract.
They read all the negative buzz from the wall street clowns, then sit down on Saturday to watch Golf on TV and see the logo and think well they are sponsoring Furyk and say gee they can't be in that bad of shape they're still advertising here.
Old story if you want to influence the guys on the shippers dock send a salesman(or salesgirl may be better) with a Pizza, but that only gets you so far. Entertain the managers who sign the contract and you'll get farther.

Since you say your old Roadway then youll know they did very little advertising outside of the trailers you seen going up and down the highway, the only time I seen a Roadway sponsership of any kind was during an indoor football game that I seen while channel surfing one day years ago,, Yellow had a Busch car and still had problems making money, Now YRC has an averge Jim Mike golfer to advertise the product they put on the road. If what is being said is true about the time frame of him signing this 4 year contract, wasnt that about the time Zollars and Hoffa came to us begging for 10% to save the company?? I have no issue with advertising, but I do have a problem when the so called brain trust of the company comes to us begging for our hard earned money, and pension, with threats of closing the doors if we didnt donate and then turns around and finds money to pay a golfer who rarely wins, and I wouldnt even know who he was if it wasnt for the fact my cash and many other Teamsters brothers and sisters were paying his contract..

roadway had a national tv ad. and 1 season of major league baseball game of the week. 1 inning on the screen behind home plate.
but I agree yellow . during good times I dont see the little logo on the 2nd rate golfer as being bad but when we are taking all types of cuts its just another slap in the face.
