How many with jobs went back?

    sponsored links
How many of you that got jobs in the past 3 years have gone back when the recall came? I know where I'm at they've been calling a lot back and only a few have gone. There were 8 where I work at now, (myself included) that got our letters last week and we all resigned from YRC and kept our jobs at a non-union company. I know there will be some name calling in reply to this post, don't care. I grew up in a strong Democrat/pro-union family, and still have a lot of love for organized labor, just not YRC after the f**ked us at Preston, and then Yellow/Roadway. Just looking for some honest answers, and reasons why.

Good luck to you, now please stay on the non-union boards.

so did you go back or were you never laid off? for at least another week I am still a YRC employee. convince me on why I should come back. there are no other Teamster jobs here to be had so where else should I go? I have 11 yrs into the pension and 9 yrs of seniority at YRC, [only 6 before I got laid off], but I guess your only advice is to ″stay on the non union boards″, thanks

I didn't exactly resign, I just haven't gone to the post office to get my missed certified letter.

I think it's very refreshing to hear someone put the blame with the company and not the Union. I'm sure I'll catch flack for that comment but I've always blamed Billy Boy for the destruction of so many good Union jobs. BTW, never been laid off. Always managed to get out on a COO to avoid that. Good luck with your decision brother. It's not an easy one to make

I was laid off in Oct 2008, Indy Dock/City. 10 years Yellow, after 12 1/2 years at Preston. I had gone to Knight while my wife and I wondered if Yellow would recall me. In Feb, 2009, Yellow recalled 10 of us to start March 9, 2009 with the merger. My wife and I decided it was better to keep a steady paycheck at Knight with insurance than return to YRC and start again. I resigned while the other nine returned. They worked 3 weeks and were relaid off. Meanwhile, Batesville Casket started a new Division in Indy and I became a road driver there. Best job I've ever had. Running Indy to Denver to Salt Lake City and back weekly. I'm guessing God had a plan that I didn't see, but He has Perfect Timing!!!!!!

I don't miss the hassling and miserable griping at all. I DO miss many of my friends, and wish all well. I know of about 15 in the Indy Area (Dock/City) that did not go back, and all seem pretty happy.
