If the pension is the same as the one we just got then no, it's not a bonus program, bonuses are based on things like meeting certain goals and the pension (more of an indidvidual retirement account than a pension) is paid based on years of service and your age, reguardless if you meet any criteria set for other things such as our bonuses which are based on meeting goals.

You nor I will ever be compensated the same as YRC, they are union and have a contract, you and I don't, FX will keep us right behind what they make and yes you will pay for your insurance. The cost is not extreme but yes again free is always better.

But they do "comparisons" with all our competitors which include co's other than just the Unionized ones. And as a whole we are not the top dog (even though they will tell you we are the best, just not the best compensated) but definitely not at the bottom of the heap either.

And lastly, yes again, someone is getting rich, Fred got rich, he started the co, the W's got rich, again their co. If you and I want to be rich, at least monetarily, we need to do something other than working for a rich guy and b@tchin about what he choses to give us. Having the union won't make us rich either.

Hope it works out for you and welcome to the boards.

I have to agree with you familyman, I get treated pretty good by the company, and well compensated, I worked for a couple of union carrier's in the past, they were good carrier's to work for, but both closed up shop; so here I am! My only complaint would be the health plan, but that does not constitute signing up for the union
