Default Labor Abuses at Cummins

Well after reading this article, I have decided that I will definitely not be using Cummins diesels in my boat. After a long proud tradition with unionized labor, Cummins has taken an anti union position with several of it's plants and ruined the lives of many loyal hardworking employees. One man even blamed a long strike at his plant as his reason for committing suicide in his last will and testament. In addition to this man, there were many lost homes and divorces.

As a Teamster, I find it hard to support a company that is clearly taking a path to being a bottom feeder. If they had been nonunion all along it wouldn't make a difference. But there is no way I can support a union buster and s**b employer.

Teamsters, Investors Examine Labor Abuses at Cummins, Inc.

also check the pdf link at the bottom....it goes into more detail regarding 18 illegally sponsored union decirtification attemts by Cummins since 2000. A decirt vote can only be called by the union members themselves, not the company. A typical practice was to hire replacement workers and then vote to decirtify the union.
