Let me start by saying that I expect to be incinerated

for say this. I am not trying to be insensitive or mean spirited. So... here goes.
Why do people spend the time and energy to put together roadside memorials when a loved one dies in a wreck? I don't see the point. I understand that it is a tribute to the passing of a loved one, but it just seems like the wrong place. People die in all kinds of places yet you don't see a memorial set-up when someone dies of a heart attack at a local market. No one displays a tribute when the clerk at a convienience store is shot and killed. So what makes a highway death so much more tragic or emotional?? I really wish someone would tell me.
Once again, I'm not being insensitive here, I just find it to be a foolish practice.
