I am 39 years old and am about to switch careers, I have been considering a career as truck driver for a while now (its something I have always wanted to do) and I am getting close to making a move, I have no experience.
What do you think is the best route to take, go to school on my own (in Maine NTI) or find a company which pays for school and gives me a job?
Is my age a factor (I am healthy & strong) affecting my ability to get a job, etc?
I have a clean license, no criminal past at all, I have been a teacher, a small business owner and corporate officer; and I have a masters degree, what suggestions do you have in explaining a career as a long haul truck driver to family and friends? Thanks for any advice and help.
