Probably in 2013 we'll be lucky if $3,000 buys a tank of gas Hello wake up..................lets move forward and not backwards. I don't know about the rest of you but I would like to retire when I'm still young enough to enjoy it and not work till the day I die
just want to say that the 1997 ups deal sucked and ron should not be proud of what he achieved then
the initial ups offer was the same money for a 4 yr contract as what ron got the members for 5 yrs with a 3 week strike

not to mention what controversy surrounding the FORGIVING of a 90 mil payment owed to the CSPF right after ratification of that smelly deal, what was that all about

ironic that the 3 week strike cost ups approx 90 mil in revenue and the union and CSPF cover that loss with a gift
i wonder what impact that additional 90 mil would have today on the underfunded CSPF??????/
as for the NMFA i can't blame ron too much there as we haven't had a decent NMFA since 1976
so it was basicly the same old **** all along:

incidently guys and gals ups will recieve a 2.2 billion dollar tax credit in 2008 due to the 6.1 billion lump sum payment withdrawal penalty so in reality they not only stand to gain huge savings from the future contributions with no increasing withdrawal liability, this in reality only cost them approx 3.8 billion to accomplish "the great escape":hide:
