APWA and HRS
I don't know how many HRS Employees frequent this board but if this is true it needs passed to every employee regarding the potential vote for APWA (no matter which camp your in)
I was told last week that not voting is not the same as a "no" vote.
Apparently they don't need 50%+1
They only need a majority of the people who show up to vote. So if 15 people show up, and 10 vote yes...we will be an APWA terminal.
Sounds just a tad wrong to me, but apparently that is a NLRB rule.
Sad to think that a few people could determine the outcome of a few hundred.
One would assume that if 600 people are employed at a terminal and only 30 showed up to vote, the other 570 probably weren't interested in what was being sold.
If anyone has any clarification on this, it would be appreciated.
To me the APWA isn't worth wasting time for, but if they aren't required to get over 50% of the employees... than everyone needs to take the time to vote.. whether it is yes or no.
If we would sadly go that way.... I would rather it be because a Majority of Employees wanted it... not just the majority of voters.
