What action would you suggest they (Hoffa and Johnson) take to help those who are or will be laid off due to the terrible economic mess we now find ourselves in? They already knew YRC was hurting when they negotiated the NMFA and hoped the UE would help the survival of the Teamster LTL freight workers. What nobody knew was that the economy would crash. There is absolutely nothing the IBT can do but hope like the rest of us. To think that they don't care is wrong. While I admire your concern I fail to see how the IBT can put these 4,000 back to work when freight is the only thing that will do it.
