Question im sorry

the reason im sorry is because the union isnt flexible. you have drivers and you have dockworkers. you have hostlers and fuelers. the hostlers hook sets and flip placards. "thats not my job, im a driver". im sorry because we are all doing the same job and under the contract rules you cant go the extra step and "help" a fellow brother and fuel the truck for example. i wish wish wish with all my blood sweat and tears that there will one day be a contract with you guys that drivers can also work the dock and the dockworker can run the hostler for 5 minutes to switch a trailer without complaining.(filing a grievance) if the union were directed more towards productivity instead of job title, you union guys would be an unstoppable force period. everyone and their brother would want to work for you. i know different locals have different rules, but whats the harm in all you guys doing what it takes to get the job done? i write this thread as a son of a teamster. maybe im "new blood". in my point of view, the teamsters better be more flexible with future contracts or they will go the way of the dinosaur. i meant no offense in posting this. i posted this looking for the teamster rebuttal, and to why there are job specific titles. basically what im asking is why do you have to wait for someone else to do a job that you can do yourself while you are on the clock waiting?
