I've done some research prior to posting this, yet I am still rather new to the whole CB thing. I've become slightly overwhelmed with all the brand loyalties, and was just looking for some general information and some clarification.

I was considering purchasing the Cobra 29 NW 40-Channel but I have heard that one with weather stations was better and preferable among OTR/Long Haul drivers. I have also read on several occasions that the Cobra's are good provided you are willing to modify them. What is the down-to-earth consensus on this?

Eventually, I will purchase a better unit, or a more powerful one, but for the time being, I just want an all around good performer that will keep me satisfied for a while.
