since this is a trucking board, it cannot always be "assumed" someone is talking about big rigs, and frankly, you never gave more info in your first posting.

in the past, some HAVE asked about thier personal pick-up trucks, this is why i wanted to know what you were reffering to.

all that a "big rig" mechanic can do is, plug into the port and change some of the parameters of the factory settings. its probably preferable, to have the dealer mechanic do this over the independant mechanic. this way, a dealer mechanic would/should be able to do this proceedure more precisly.

and you had better be the OWNER of that truck. if you pay someone, or you KNOW someone, who changes the parameters of the engine specs, and something goes wrong, you can be fired. PLUS, every time the truck goes in for its PM service, the mechanics always do a scan of the system. most if not all companies KNOW that drivers mess around with things, for more speed, etc.

get caught doing this...............and you'll be DAC'd BIG TIME.......
