Default South Texas drivers, wanna help a newbie?

Hi Guys,

I'm in San Antonio and looking into the driver training program at St. Phillips College. My goal is to drive about five years and save all the money I can. My knowledge of trucking is limited at best.

What I do know is that I want to start out hard and stay on the road full time the first three years, step down to a more steady 5-day week the last two years. Not interested in owning a truck either. I can work under pretty bad conditions, and have, but refuse bend or break any laws to make money.

Other than than I have no idea where to begin. Where is the good money for a newbie like me and what company might fit with my goals? My record is clean, I'm organized, responsible, and want to do this right the first time.

I'm 35, in good shape, and ready to work hard for a company that will treat me right. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated, especially if you have info on the South Texas area.

Thanks Guys!

-Robert
