For more than 10 years, Salina's MSS Transport has had manufacturers set the electronic devices on the engines of the company's tractor-trailer trucks to run at a maximum of 70 mph.
"It helps us save on the cost of fuel, by getting better miles-per-gallon," said Karin Roland, company president.
So when Roland heard of a proposal by the American Trucking Associations that would require manufacturers to set the electronic devices on tractor-trailer trucks at 68 mph, she wasn't concerned.
