heay abf, get competitive - Page 2

i have 24 years of union affiliation not all of it has been teamster. i only have 4+years at ABF. and as for contacting my BA, that does nothing. i recently got a part time job hauling mattresses around town and up the freeway. i see yellow, fedex, upsf, and a ton of usf linehaul triples on that freeway from salt lake and then all of the sudden finally a ABF set. it seems as though abf isnt even running the highways that much anymore. and seriously, maybe im wrong but how does running 15+ guys 58-60 hrs a week, week after week, month after month save abf when at regular pay they could atleast bring some of us guys on layoff back to help kill the huge amount of overtime that they are paying? maybe that is why im just a driver, health and welfare im sure is the answer ill get from that last question. anyway, i cant wait to get back to abf so i can drag my feet like the rest of my so called teamster brothers

Selfish brothers/sisters and their HOG Boards, the company loves them for it, less employees needed. There is no solidarity with our fellow Teamsters at ABF. A very sorry sight, me first attitudes abound. Just think, if the Teamsters would call a strike.....how many of our brothers/sisters would cross the picket line....me first attitudes. Also, it appears like some of the authors of the replys are brain washed. Whats that CW song??? [i]'you find out who your friends are'

conway freight is going to be king because the drivers work hard for less thats what abf wants too, and I AM SORRY TO SAY if yrc goes down abf will be like a shark in the water filled with chum,

Seems that a lot of LTL carriers in Las Vegas are starting to hire people off the street again. Con way, Saia, R&L and Reddaway. We still have 12 guys laid off! WTF
