Yes sir, I don't want to paint with too broad of a brush either. I know that there are plenty of guys that don't agree with how the system works.

Also, just to clarify, when I spoke about guys shaving time off of their runs what I was actually referring to was the guys that can magically average 60 mph all the time so they never run out of hours.

Or wait until 20 minutes before midnight and call me to come in with no sleep, like they are doing me a favor. I finally found a local non-freight gig who was not afraid to hire someone with teamster background. Which I fully believe was my problem for the longest time on the job search. It has normal day hours M-F, pay is less then ABF but at least its steady and the head games don't happen there at all.

I am still "laid off" but I don't think this its worth going back if I hear, "oh its getting busy again, be ready". It cost me everything to stay there as long as I did. Lastly the other thing that always bothered me was being called in on a Friday after 2 or 3 weeks of no work, and having to listen to the senior girls complaining about that they are working 60 hours a week, meanwhile here I am with 2 dollars in my pocket to get me through 12-14 hours. Something is definitely wrong with the whole set up. So don't feel bad about doubting whether to stay or not, I am thinking its more trouble than its worth, Especially if YRC folds up (which I hope they don't), ABF in my opinion will be right behind them when the non unions go crazy and continue slashing rates to sink us.
I see you joined in Feb and this is your first post. Welcome off of the bench!

Your story is so similar to mine and to so many others. I talked in another post about how I was confronted by a senior man--the first day back in 11 months--wanting me to sign a petition to take the wheel board away from the turn bid guys. I felt like a bum behind a restaurant who finally found a decent meal only to have a well-off diner come out and tell me how they are having dessert inside and would I sign a petition ordering the server to cut larger pieces for him.

Vegas recalled 3 city guys Friday. Myself included. Reason being we got some huge account that is 2 hours away and they are thinking it's going to be 4-6 vans a night! We will be hauling double 45's to start to see how that works. If not, we will be taking triples up there. God, I hope it's the beginning of the end of the worst year ever.
