Default Just a couple of ?'s

First I was wondering if and when ABF asks for a pay cut will we be asked to keep voting till it gets passed? Second what is going to happen when the contract is up and all these pay cuts are supposed to snap back? Are the companies going to expect everybody to forget about that part of the deal? I'm not trying to get everybody stirred up but it's never too early to start thinking about this stuff.

if it ever happens i say everyone just asks them if ABF raised their prices as much as the rest of the american market raised its prices and wages over the last 15 to 20 years(they do say they are one of the highest costing carriers in business)
my wages in the last 16 years have only risin about $5 an hour.....in the same time period i have watched the rest of my buddies get 10$ to 15bux in raises...
my point being if i was at the pay the rest of the people in the chicagoland area are...in the labor trade businesses..i would be at 30$ + an hour.... yeah everything else around me went up that high to... and sometimes higher(gas 4 instance)... anyways if i was in that pay area...where just about everyone else went...i probably wouldnt have a problem giving 10% back...i'd still be making 27$ an hour then and it's a whole hell of a lot more than i'm getting now... damm 15% would put me at 25.50 an hour... thats still a couple bucks more than im making now as a dockman...hell 80 bucks extra a week if my wages raised like everything else around me and i gave back 15% from where my pay should be..
so if they ask just tell them to give ya 25.50 an hour and we'll call it even...

EVERYONE in this industry needs to look at it this way...Union or not...we have'nt seen a decent pay increase in a looooong time....what do ya say we shut this whole damned industry down for a couple weeks and see if the people of this country start realizing what we are worth..
and believe me i really dont see these companys moving out of the country or over seas... so unless you can show me how they can start dropping freight from planes and not driving on our soil dont comment with some stupid garbage about outsourcing....we are an industry that can only be worked without going outside for labor...oh yeah and by the way... you cant drive a train to someones door or most businesses... so dont spew no crap about the rail industry...we'd still be in demand... and by the way.. my buddy works for the railroad and his pay went up too

1 more thing..if i was in debt and had a bunch of garbage i could sell off to help me get out of debt ..it would be going on the chopping block...AND CHEAP...
if i had a house worth 200,000 dollars and i owed 50,000 on it...and i couldnt make my bills i would sell the house for 150,000 to get out of it and save my credit score...walk away with 100,000 in my pocket...and buy a smaller house...
i have had friends with cars and motorcycles they have had a whole lotta money tied up into and i have watched them sell their stuff for alot less than its worth just to make their bills and stay outta the credit crunch...
what makes yrc any different... start unloading your and get yourself out of the red...why is it that when it comes to big business its always gotta be the public that bail them out but when it comes to the average joe he has to go at it alone...
i am a firm believer that yrc could have seperated the companys into seperate entities again and made them work individually and whatever did'nt work they could have just gotten rid of...this is all about monopolizing and busting down the ltl trucking industry.... they have control and they want more....if it was'nt about sticking it to the average everyday worker and it was'nt planned they would have gotten rid of the CEO of YRCW a long time ago...i know if i owned a business and the manager was running it into the ground he would be on the outside looking in...

its about time we all start sticking together and start showing these corporate morons that we are'nt the generation of workers that are going to be pushed around... we dont have to take this...we absolutely have to start standing together...forget the Union non Union debate...as an industry we need to start standing tall before we are all working for 15 bux an hour and riding a schwinn to work....

there are people that made a change for the people that work this industry before,....they did'nt do it for themselves they did it for the generations to follow...maybe it's time we get off our high horses and quit thinking about ourselves and start thinking about our children and grandchildren and make it so there is something here for them in the future besides just enough to get by...

JUST MY 2cents

i apologize if this bothers anyone but i am fed up with watching good everyday people get screwed slowly...
